Complications

A complication is a function beyond telling hours and minutes. This library keeps separate notes for a chronograph, a date display, and GMT. The index you are reading only explains how those notes are organized. It does not grade a movement and it does not name a caliber number.

What each note covers

The chronograph note is about the pushers, the counters, and how a used chronograph feels when you start and stop it. The date note is about the window, the date wheel, and how the date changes around midnight. The GMT note is about the extra hand or the rotating scale and how a traveler reads a second time zone. If a record mentions a function and also a movement type, the type word that may be kept is only automatic, manual, or quartz, and it follows the function page. A caliber number is not copied onto the page.

How this differs from fit

Fit asks whether the case suits a wrist. A complication note asks whether the function is intact and understandable. A worn pusher, a date that jumps late, or a GMT hand that does not track the scale are function questions. Case diameter still belongs on Fit. Bracelet and bezel changes belong on Modifications. Model families are on Families. Definitions are on Glossary.
